I’m a big fan of small makeup kits. While I do have an arsenal of beauty products at home, whenever I go out of the house I only like to handpick a few items that will go with me for the day. That said, compacts and multitaskers score very high on my list because they save space yet carry so much.
This summer seems like it’s going to be another hot one, so even more reason to keep things light (both in your makeup bag, and on your face!).
I road-tested some Pixi by Petra products for two summer-ready looks: one that’s suitable for the day, and another for night.
Using my face as the canvas, I split up two sides of my face: one side for Day, and the other for Night.
I used my fave contouring product, Multibalm in Sheer Sculpt to add more definition to my nose, eyes, cheekbones, and jaw, then followed it up with a light dusting of highlight and blush, using the Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey.
Next, I kept the eye makeup light with the Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Copper Peach. The Natural Brow Duo in Natural Blonde gave my brows enough definition without looking overly drawn, while lining my upper lash line with Endless Silky Eye Pen in Graphic Greige opened up the eyes instantly.
I like to go a little over my cupid’s bow to give my lips more shape. After using the Lip Contour Liner in Bare Buff to enhance it, I then lightly coated my lips with MatteLast Liquid Lip in Really Rose.
With half of my face already done up for the day, I proceeded to use the second for my night look.
I had already contoured my entire face and done up my brows, but felt like the latter could use a little more definition considering the type of eye makeup I was planning to do. I grabbed the Brow Powder Palette and filled in the inner corners of my brows with the middle shade, then capped my eyebrow off with a couple of smooth strokes using the Endless Brow Gel Pen in Medium.
This time, I used the Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz and started on my soft plum smoky eye look. I was never very confident about doing a smoky eye because I always felt this type of look made my eyes look smaller in general, but turns out the shades in this Pixi palette allowed me to pull off a smoky look that still keep my eyes open!
I finished off the look with similarly rosy shades for my cheeks and lips, using the Lip Contour Liner in Natural Rose, MatteLast Liquid Lip in Evening Rose, and the Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold.
Side note: The Pixi MatteLast Lip has made a convert out of me thanks to its long-lasting yet moisturizing formula. I wore it to a beach wedding and didn’t have to reapply all throughout the night despite having had more than my fair share calamansi margaritas!
