Statuesque beauty who is definitely a head turner, yet down-to-earth and sweet, that was my first impression of Bea Santiago. I have known about her since her big win in 2013 when she was crowned Miss International, following the footsteps of Lara Quigaman who won in 2006. I only met her personally at the airport one fine day this summer in Bohol by happenstance. She truly is stunning on and off cam! Since winning the crown, she has become a celebrity in her own right – travel show host, TV and events presenter, fashion model and advocate of her chosen charities. Find out how she keeps her skin gorgeous, her fave beauty discovery and more… Happy reading!   – Lia, Glamourbox CEO

1. What is your day like as a beauty queen/model? How has winning the Miss International crown changed your life?

I usually play with my dogs first right when I get up (I sleep with all 3 frenchies and poms)—they make me the happiest. Usually I’m always out of town filming a travel show or hosting an event or judging pageants. So as much as I can, when I’m not working, I make sure I’m at home with my dogs, watching Game of Thrones with my boyfriend, cleaning my home, and checking on my plants. Winning changed my life, of course! I get to work with charities I can only dream of working with like UN and UNFPA. I am sent to places teaching and hearing the youth about teenage pregnancies and HIV problems as well as employment problems facing them. I also helped my hometown by collecting books for the library we opened 2 years ago.

2. What beauty item can’t you live without?

I can’t live without mascara as it helps give my eyes even more pop. I feel naked without it.

3. What’s your one beauty indulgence?

Skincare and makeup! I really don’t mind spending money buying really good skincare products and makeup!

4. What’s your daily skincare regimen?

I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin so I make sure my skincare products are from an expert and prescribed to me by my derma. I’m using all Aivee clinic products and my skin is finally getting better! Most especially because I work outside the whole day with makeup on! Thank God for Dra. Aivee (Teo)!

5. Best beauty discovery from abroad?

Chanel foundation (ultralight sheer skin perfecting makeup)! It’s the best! Spending time in Japan made me realize how important skin is and less is more! This foundation is light and it smells great, too!

6. What’s the best beauty advice anyone has given you?

Patrick Roxas and Dra. Aivee Teo told me to invest in my skin. I am taking that advice now.

7. If you were to raid someone’s closet, whose closet would it be and why?

Of course, Blake Lively and Kate Moss! I’m like torn between them! Blake is super chic, elegant and sexy! She’s like my style icon and of course Kate because of her rocker girlfriend modelish- I don’t care style! I love her!

8. Favorite spot to unwind on a Friday night in the Metro? Your go-to cocktail/poison of choice?

I usually don’t drive far during Fridays but when I’m around Makati, I visit Txanton along Chino Roces! The bomb!!! I love wine and some jamon.

9. Local destination on your bucket list and why?

Zambales. I love how it’s like a total different place from the rest of the Philippines! They do have awesome beaches but they also have the craziest scenery!

10. One word that best describes you?

I hear a lot of people call me crazy, fun and nice but I pick crazy. Haha! So, crazy.
