No bull! If you’re a couch potato like most of us, then these tried and tested weight loss hacks are for you!
First things first, your weight loss goals should be realistic and the action plan should fit with your current lifestyle. Aim for a realistic number and timeline so you won’t feel pressured to attempt a crash diet or those hocus juice cleanses (trust me, they’re not as healthy nor sustainable long term). I am not athletic at all and I hate going to the gym so here are some of my tried-and-tested hacks to lose weight as easily as possible.
1.) Lemon Water, Green Tea and Oolong – meet your new best friends. Drink these to help shed unwanted pounds. Lemon Water first thing in the morning and then oolong or green tea all throughout the day.
2.) Swap your usual carbs for healthier options – Say goodbye to white rice, white sugar and bread. Swap these for brown rice, brown sugar, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, quinoa and whole grains instead.
3.) Eat a hearty breakfast and snack in between meals – Your first meal of the day should be substantial, full of fiber and healthy. Eating a large breakfast stabilizes your blood sugar levels. Snacking on healthy treats like fruits, nuts and baked sweet potatoes prevents you from bingeing later in the day.
4.) Walk around or take the stairs – try to incorporate as much physical activity as you can into your routine. Stressed out? Take a short breather by going outside to relax and recharge your brain.
6.) Power walk! – if you really must exercise, opt for low impact enjoyable ones that don’t feel like hell every time you do it. A great low impact full body routine that I can do at home is Leslie Sansone’s 2 Mile Power Walk. It works for a lazy couch potato like me because I don’t feel like dying every time I do this 30 minute fat burning routine.
