I recently enrolled at Fashion Institute of the Philippines and took up Fashion Makeup Class for two months. It was so much fun, and I learned a lot of techniques like no makeup makeup, bridal makeup, smokey eye, heavy contouring, and even avant-garde. You can read all about my experience here.
It was also a chance for me to get to know more of Glamourbox’s products (which I would use on my models each weekend), and here below are my favorites and the ones I kept using over and over. I think these are all a great investment to one’s makeup kit because of their quality, pigmentation, ingredients, and lasting power. It doesn’t hurt the wallet either!
I would always use this to prep my model’s skin before applying primer.
I used this every after finishing an entire look, because it allows the makeup to stay longer. I also made sure to use this on a client/friend who asked me to do her makeup because she was attending a wedding.
I love the colors of this palette! It’s perfect for a simple, day time look.
The Smokin’ Hot was perfect for my avant-garde lesson, while the Naturally Bare I used for bridal makeup. The pigmentation of these are great, and it’s so easy to mix, match, and blend.
I used this more as a concealer for dark under eyes, which I would set with powder after.
This blush looks great with any look! The shade is just universal.
After I learned how to apply false lashes, I knew I had to use Eye of Horus’ Goddess Mascara with them. Unlike other mascaras, this is the only one that doesn’t clump and it’s perfect to use with falsies.
The color of the Bronze Amulet was perfect to use on the outer waterline, especially if I wanted to do a semi-smokey eye look.
These are my power couple for the brows. I use the Ultimate Brow Define to line brows and draw hair, and the Dual Brow Perfect to continue filling them in (especially towards the tail end). Then I would use the brow gel of the Dual Brow Perfect to keep the brows in place.
I think every makeup artist needs a nude, a red, and a plum lipstick shade. Not kidding, all my models fell in love with Ofra’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks because of their matte finish.
So those are the products I’m definitely adding to my wishlist! Have you guys ever tried any of these?
