I recently went on a 3-Day Skin and Mind Clarity Cleanse with Detoxify Bar. It’s my second time ever to do a cleanse, but to be honest, the first time around I failed because I ended up succumbing to my hunger during the second day (I scheduled it on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and I had work, which was a bad idea). On my second try, I’m proud to say that I survived and conquered my cleanse!
Juice cleansing has become such a popular trend—it’s evident in the number of juicing companies that have sprouted in the last two or three years. Detoxify Bar is one of the pioneers of fresh-pressed juices, and I love how delicious and easy to drink their juices are.
If a juice cleanse is something you want to try, here are some tips to help you conquer it as well.
1. Schedule it properly.
It’s best to schedule it when you’re not too busy or tired, so you can really focus on your cleanse. I did mine during the Holy Week, which was perfect because it allowed me to focus and stay mentally strong.
2. Surround yourself with people who will support you.
It’s great to have a support system who will help you and even push you to the finish line. My family was incredibly supportive while I was on my cleanse. They kept asking how I was and encouraging me to keep going.
3. When hunger strikes, keep yourself busy.
Or go to sleep.
You can’t avoid feeling hungry. When it happens, just distract yourself by playing a game, going to sleep, or reading a book! I was lucky to have my dog, Booboo, to play with the entire time. He also helped remove the stress and anxious feeling of wanting to eat.
4. Chug it.
If you can’t take the taste, pinch your nose and chug it!
5. Drink lots of water.
This keeps you feeling full as well. And it’s a great complement to the juices!
So those are five tips to help you survive a juice cleanse! Cleansing is a great way to train your body and shift to healthier eating habits. It doesn’t guarantee that you’ll lose weight, but skinny is out anyway and healthy is the new sexy!
