From her casual makeup stints during her college years to being the fashion & celebrity makeup artist that she is known today, Au Mauricio proves that passion and a persevering attitude pays off. We particularly love the makeup tricks we pick up from her Glamourbox videos and makeup workshops! Find out more about Au, one of our beloved makeup contributors, here in Real People.
1. When did you get involved in the beauty industry as a makeup artist and how did it happen?
I fell in love with makeup in summer before senior year in highschool. I went on vacation in the States and discovered makeup in Target. I bought all the makeup I can afford and also bought tons of Seventeen magazines to get inspiration. I was known to do makeup for friends and classmates, for parties, soirees, proms, class pictures, etc.

2. You and your husband Mau Mauricio, a professional photographer, make a great team. What’s the best thing about working with your husband?

Mau and I have been married for 12 years and I can say that we are in sync with artistic vision.  We bring out the best in each other because we can speak our minds freely.

3.  What does your daily beauty regimen look like?
I wash my face every night using my Clarisonic Brush Cleanser to thoroughly remove all the dirt and make-up.  I also use Embryolisse moisturizer and NARS tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 when I go out.
4. What’s your one beauty indulgence?
I wish I could afford La Prairie; that would be my beauty indulgence.  For now, it’s Embryolisse.

Sleep early.

9. If you were to do the makeup of a famous personality, who would it be and why?
I would love to do Angelina Jolie’s make-up.  One of the things I enjoy about my job is the opportunity to chat with my clients while they are in my make-up chair.  Can you imagine Angelina in my make-up chair?  I would have a lot of questions to ask!!!  I’m sure it would be amazeballs.
