The effervescent Karrots Nazareno gushes about her new show “Live, Love, Lolz” and tells us all about her favorite beauty products, fashion faves and donya inspirations.

1. Tell us about Live, Love, Lolz. When did it start and what was the inspiration behind it?

Live Love LOLz is a podcast I host under the New Media Factory. It is on-demand entertainment (well at least I hope it is entertaining). You can watch anytime, anywhere as long as you have access to the internet. The talk show is like you’re hanging out in the living room with a friend (or a borderline psychotic aunt) and laughing at how your day went. I like to give humour (and glamour) to the mundane and share new discoveries in beauty, home, fashion, parenting and of course, Donya Problems. I relish learning about the human side of brands and businesses and hope to share that enthusiasm with the viewers.

One of the network owners, Basti Artadi, approached me May of last year. His wife discovered my blog ( and thought that the content, tone and character would be fit for a show. We started airing July 2012 and are already on our third season. Season 1 had an average of 12,000 downloads per episode.  Now on season 3, we are averaging 30,000 downloads per episode! OMG.

2. Who is your dream interviewee and why?

Miriam Defensor Santiago. Gosh I want to know how she solves her Donya Problems! Or Vice Ganda. I want to know how he gets his bangs so high.

4. What does your daily beauty regimen look like?

I used to be the girl who would put smokey eyes first thing in the morning. Now all I require is a clean face and eyebrows. I use Pevonia Myoxy-Caviar cleanser to wash my face, L’Oreal Lucent Magique foundation, K Palette kilay and Hollywood sunglasses.

5. What’s your one beauty indulgence? Any beauty secret/s that you learned from your mom?

I bought La Mer cream once thinking that because it is expensive, it darn better stop time!

My Mama would always bug me about my eyebrows. She’d know immediately if I’d over pluck and would give me such grief. I learned how to do my eyebrows early in life thanks to my Mama.

6. What is/are your must-have beauty product (s)?

Call me Lolabelles but you MUST have an umbrella with you at all times. A black one preferably for better UV blockage. I walk around a lot, and the sun beating on my face just adds unnecessary aging. You can literally feel yourself age!

Even with an SPF product applied, bring an umbrella. You also never know if it will rain.

7. Best beauty discovery from abroad?

SK II night cream! It’s so light, perfect for our humid weather.

8. Everyone knows that you are a huge shoe lover, tell us about your favorite pair.

I’m a big supporter of Filipino made shoes. My current favorite pair are these nude flat sandals from Feretti. I intend to wear them until they turn grimy and ashen. They go well with any outfit, create the illusion of thin legs and give you a casual elegance. Plus I can wear them all day on these perpetual errands.

9. What was the most interesting/horrendous/expensive pair of shoes you’ve encountered?

The most horrendous pair I own are, hands down, my Vibram 5 fingers. They look like gorilla feet. Type in #uglyshoes on Instagram and it’s mostly photos of that brand. I have to confess they are the best for TRX workouts. But you won’t catch me in the grocery in them. Unless it’s an emergency.

10. If you could raid someone’s closet, whose closet would it be and why?

I would gladly be reincarnated as a rat if only to dwell in the marvelous closet(s) of Dennis Robles. Of course I would probably be exterminated immediately. I look forward to Dennis’ OOTD posts and imagine myself wearing his shoes. I love his nonchalant extravagance. I’ve been following his outfits since 2005. FANGIRL?

I’d also like to be imprisoned in JP Singson’s closet. He put swagger in androgynous dressing and made “unisex” sexy. Which I try to emulate. Try langThose are my 2 fashion crushes.
